We are delighted to announce the safe arrival of Mary Scarlett and Gunners new family.
Scarlett - Quintrelle Mary Christmas blessed us with a litter of beautiful boys on Monday 24th of October, 4 days earlier than expected.
The father - Gunner - Marlhouse Hot and Spicey At Moonstone was chosen not only for his dashing good looks but for his excellent health and sweet nature. Sincere thanks to Margaret Kirkham for allowing us to use this beautiful boy.
Both Gunner and Scarlett are sound of heart and eye tested as clear of any defects. Scarlett was very recently DNA tested - a very new test - and found to be genetically clear of the genes for Curly Coat, Cry Eye and Episodic Falling. ( C.C., DE, EF)
Being a bit soft, I always give new born babies a name when they arrive, usually off the top of my head and then as we get to know the pups it may well change. Frequently they stick with it for their entire life. This litter is very hard to tell apart because all three black and tans look the same but as the hours pass I am getting quite good at telling which is which without visual aids.
Because Steve and I have a particular liking for volcanoes the pups will all be named after them, some you will have heard of and some you may wish to look up.
Click each pups button to be taken to their own page or read updates on the whole litter here.
7 weeks already, where oh where has the time gone? From three helpless little mites to three frolicking fun filled little men who can run like the wind, climb out of the puppy pen and run away with the grand childrens socks, it hardly seems possible!
This week we have seen the opthalmologist and had the pups eyes tested, we are delighted to say all were clear I any of the defects the eye lady was looking for such as juvenile cataracts, retinal folds etc.
We also had their general vet checks done and hearts checks and thankfully, again , all passed with flying colours. The pups really enjoyed their outings and took to the car very well. They were very much cuddled and passed from nurse to receptionist etc who all could not believe how they had come on in such a short time!
